404 Page Not Found Error

To prevent any 404 errors on custom post type pages, after installing and activating plugins for this theme, you need to save permalinks. Go to admin panel > Settings > Permalink settings. Using this option you can change your permalinks.

Why you receive this error?

Generally, this is not a theme issue. It occurs due to your WordPress installation or web server configuration. These causes are as follow:

  • Apache II mod_rewrite module is not being loaded by your web server.
  • Apache II is configured to disallow overrides by your .htaccess file.
  • Your WordPress .htaccess file is missing or not writeable by the web server.

What will you do to solve such issues?

  • Kindly set your permalinks option to the “default” option and save changes. And then, set permalinks to something other than the default and save the change.
  • Also, make sure that your WordPress .htaccess file is present in your WordPress installation. If it is not then create a blank file called .htaccess and upload it to your WordPress installation folder.
  • Make sure, you can navigate your front page menu links without errors.
  • If you find the same issue again and again, contact your web host support team for assistance.
